初年度であった2021年度は新型コロナウィルス感染症流行の影響で、予定した現地調査が全くできず、研究資金もほぼ全額繰り越した。2年目の2022年度はその繰越資金を使用し、タイやフィリピンで前年度に行う予定だった現地調査等を行った。一方、ベトナムでは同感染症の影響が一部残っていたため、現地調査を見合わせ、国内で文献調査等を進めた。ミャンマーは感染症よりも政治的混乱の影響で、現地調査が不可能になったため、将来的に事態が鎮静化することを待つ対応をとらざる得なかった。カンボジアは主に別予算で、補足研究を行ったので、その成果は代表者の別科研の報告書に記載した。以下、タイとフィリピン、ベトナムに関する研究実績の概要を報告する。タイに関わる研究・調査では、バンコクやチェンマイの有力大学等で、関連分野の現地語資料の検索・収集を進めた。また、北部と東北部の農山村域を広く廻り、複数のコミュニティ林地等を踏査調査するとともに、それらの管理のあり方や成立経緯などについて、現地住民等から情報収集を行った。その結果、現在も検討中ではあるものの、今年度以降、集中的に現地調査を進める候補地が絞り込めつつある。フィリピンでは、先祖伝来の土地を先住民族の権利空間として認める法律制定から四半世紀を経たが、その担当部局である国家先住民族委員会で現状に関する聞き取り調査、ルソン島オーロラ州で狩猟採集民コミュニティに付与された権利空間における森林資源管理の実態に関する聞き取り調査を行った。ベトナムについては、その国家的な森林・土地管理の特色を俯瞰的かつ歴史的に捉えるために、有益なフィールドノートの精査を行った。古川久雄（京都大学名誉教授）が1980年代にインドネシア・メラネシア・オーストラリアで実施したフィールドワークに基づきまとめた記録をもとに、当時の資源利用を検討した。
