项目摘要

本課題では微生物を中心に、モアザンヒューマン（人以上）生命種と人の関係性を支援する技術のデザインを、「相互ケア」の概念を通して研究することを目的としている。そのために、研究代表者らが構築してきた糠床ロボット「Nukabot」を起点とし、展示や実験を通して調査を進めている。2022年度においては、情報処理学会論文誌のインタラクション特集号に、CHI21で発表した内容を日本語で解説しつつ前年度に21_21 DESIGN SIGHTでの展示を経て得られたデータ解析を紹介する論文を投稿し、採択され、年度末に公開された。また同論文の内容をもとに、2022年度のインタラクション学会にて招待講演を行った。日本科学未来館では、新しいバージョンが安定稼働するまでメンテナンスを繰り返し、腐敗が起きやすい夏場を超えた頃から、これまでの実験で得たphatic communion（連帯を生み出すことを目的とする儀礼的な挨拶や発話行為）の必要性という観点から、人工知能と人工生命を研究するCrosslabs社のOlaf Witkowski氏らとディスカッションを繰り返した。その結果、Crosslabs社の協力を得て、GPT-3技術を用いてNukabotとphaticな会話を交わすことのできる機能を実装し、日本科学未来館の展示に展開した。また、下北沢の発酵食専門店「発酵デパートメント」店舗内で、無期限のNukabot展示を行えることになり、2台めのNukabot バージョン4を制作し、未来館と同じGPT-3版を設置した。また、糠床微生物転移実験用のデータを分析し終え、微生物学分野に向けた英語論文を伊藤光平氏らと執筆し、投稿を行った。
