2020年6月に実施たCOVID-19パンデミック下における都市緑地・都市農地の利用と健康及び食料不安との関係についてのアンケート調査結果を解析し、国際誌npj Urban Sustainabilityに論文"Urban agriculture in walkable neighborhoods bore fruit for health and food system resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic"を投稿し、受理された。この論文では、家庭菜園や市民農園での自家生産や近隣の農産物直売所での直接購入が、それぞれの利用者の精神的・身体的健康とフードセキュリティの変数と有意に関連していることを明らかにした。特に、市民農園の利用は、都市公園の利用よりも主観的幸福度と強く関連し、食品小売店の利用よりも食料不安の緩和と強く関連していた。これらの結果は、農住混在地区内において都市農地を保全することの有効性を示す強固な証拠となる。また、2023年3月に東京に於いて都市農業遺産に関する国際ワークショップを主催し、ドイツ・アーヘン大学、インドネシア・パジャジャラン大学、キューバ・ハバナ大学、ブラジル・サンパウロ大学からの研究者と都市農業とその遺産的側面に関する国際比較を行った。そこでの議論を通じて、①日本の農住混在地区は世界的にも特異な存在であり、気候変動や生物多様性保全への対策として、現在ある都市農地の保全が重要であること、②一方で都市農地の保全が農家個人の意思に寄りすぎており、より都市計画的な保全の手立てが必要であることが指摘された。
