本研究課題は，研究代表者及び研究分担者がドイツ・フランス・英国等の研究者と密接に連携し，法学のみならず，社会学及び心理学の専門家も交えて，子どもの権利について学際的な国際共同研究を行うことを目的としている。2022年度には，研究代表者が少しずつドイツ及び米国等に渡航する機会を得ており，子どもの権利保護の視点から，国際的な子の連れ去り及び移民の子どもの権利保護について研究を進めることができた。具体的には，西谷がドイツのマックスプランク国際私法及び比較私法研究所（ハンブルク所在）に渡航してミヒェルス所長と意見交換を行い，研究報告を2回行ったほか，ケルン大学マンゼル教授及びクレス教授とも密接に連携し，研究成果を発表することができた。また，米国では，西谷が2023年1～3月にニューヨーク大学ロースクールにて客員教授として「Globalization and Legal Pluralism」について授業を行う中で，諸外国の研究者と学際的な視点から研究交流をする機会を得ることができ，より広い理論的かつ哲学的な視点から，グローバル法多元主義の意義と課題，グローバル立憲主義に基づく民主化及び制度化の可能性，人権保障の枠組み等について検討を進めることができた。この間に国内でも他の研究者との連携を進めたほか，国内外からグローバル立憲主義や法理学等の複数の専門家を招聘して有益な意見交換を行うことで大きな成果につながったといえる。ただし，2022年度は，まだコロナ前のように容易に渡航できる状況ではなかったため，研究分担者による海外渡航は実現できなかった。それゆえ，少し時間をかけてより実質的に共同研究を進めることができるように，来年度以降も事業を継続することとし，海外の諸機関とも連携しながら，研究成果の発表のための準備を進める予定である。
