项目摘要

本研究は、旧大和国宇智郡栄山寺領（現・奈良県五條市）の歴史的景観復元と、栄山寺文書の文書群復元とによる、栄山寺に関する総合的歴史研究である。前者に関しては、現地において水利などの調査を行う予定であったが、本年度も新型コロナウイルス感染症の感染拡大により、長距離移動を伴う大人数での出張や、対面・接触での聞き取り調査が実施が容易ではなかった。そうした中で、8月に、平安期に栄山寺領が展開した重坂条・佐味条故地（旧・宇野村・三在村・住川村など）において、実際の地形や水路、耕地の状況に即して条里を復元するための現地調査を行うことができ、一定の成果を得ることができた。また、初年度以来、現地調査が困難になったことの代替措置として調査を進めている地籍図については、前年度までに調査をしていた五條市役所税務課所蔵のものだけでなく、奈良地方法務局五篠支局所蔵のものも確認することができ、当該地域における旧公図の作成・伝来状況について、全貌が把握できつつある。後者に関しては、8月に国立歴史民俗博物館所蔵の栄山寺文書やなら歴史文化芸術村で修理中の栄山寺所蔵文書を閲覧する機会を得、そこでの知見も踏まえつつ前々年度・前年度から引き続き『五條市史』などの校訂を進めた。また、一乗院文書（二条家文書）などに含まれる栄山寺が所見する史料について翻刻を進めた。12月と2月には他の共同研究との共催で研究会を実施することができ、栄山寺文書に見える坪付のデータ化や栄山寺境内が所在する小島村周辺での条里復元などについて討議を行った。
