便益遅延性の観点から教育サービスにおける目標形成、学習行動、モチベーション、および3つの便益(機能的便益、感情的便益、価値観的便益)の享受にかかわるモデルの構築を行うとともに、その検証を医療系専門学校と料理系専門学校の学習者を対象に実施している調査結果を用いて行った。なお、医療系専門学校は3年制で、2018年度から2020年度の入学生を対象に、入学から卒業まで継続的に調査を実施し、2023年3月で調査を終了した。料理系専門学校は2年制で、2020年度からの入学生を対象に、入学から卒業まで継続的に調査を実施しており、現在も2022年度入学者を対象に調査を継続している（2023年度入学者に対しても実施）。調査では、学習行動、目標、便益享受、モチベーション、および顧客満足等の変化を把握している。これまでの両専門学校での調査結果の分析では、機能的便益と価値観的便益の享受に対する知覚はN字型に変動する傾向があることが明らかになった。この傾向は認知バイアであるダニング=クルーガー効果によるスキル向上と自信の関係と類似しており、両専門学校ともに現場実習を課していることから、これが乗り越えるべき“カベ”となり、N字型変動が生じていると推察された。機能的便益と価値観的便益の享受に対する知覚がこのように変化することによって感情的便益と顧客満足も同様な変化を示していた。また、学習モチベーションも学習過程とともに変化する傾向が見られた。さらに、学習者の顧客満足の形成に対しては、教育サービスの本質的な便益である機能的便益や価値観的便益よりも、感情的便益の方が重要な役割を果たしていることが明らかになった。この結果から、従来のマーケティングにおいては成果指標として顧客満足が用いられてきたが、教育サービスにおいてはこの指標は必ずしも適切ではいことから、代替的指標の考察を調査結果の分析に基づいて行った。
