项目摘要

本年度の研究計画は、カンボジアの言論環境の歴史的展開に関する調査を実施し、どのような知識人がどのような媒体で言論活動を展開していたのか、近現代カンボジアの知識人と彼らがおかれた言論環境の特徴を検討するというものである。しかしながら、本年度は新型コロナウィルス感染症の影響によって、当初予定していたカンボジア国内外におけるフィールドワーク実施という研究計画を大幅に見直し、研究目的に沿って実施可能な研究を進めた。具体的には、①インターネット上で閲覧可能な関連資料を調査、資料収集、②新たに収集した新聞・雑誌資料と既収資料をもとに近現代カンボジアで発行された新聞・雑誌を中心とした出版物データベースを作成、③収集資料の言説分析、④メディア史研究、ナショナリズム研究、カンボジア地域研究など、本研究課題と関連した研究領域の文献を渉猟し、本研究課題の理論部分の検討を進めた。①のインターネット上で閲覧可能な資料に関しては、新聞・雑誌資料では1960年代にカンボジア国内で発行されていたフランス語新聞・雑誌、1990年代～2010年代にカンボジア国内で発行された英字紙の記事を中心に収集した。カンボジア国内の言論環境に関して、公官庁（主に情報省）から発出される回状等が記された官報（1980年代～2010年代）のうち、インターネット上で閲覧可能なものを調査し、収集した。②の新聞・雑誌を中心とした出版物のデータベース作成に関しては、雑誌名、出版社、社主、編集長、主筆、記者・執筆者、出版期間、発行部数、発行地の通時的変遷をまとめるとともに、それら出版物が先行研究でいかに扱われてきたのかまとめた。③の資料の言説分析では、主に新たに収集した新聞・雑誌資料を対象として、重点的に扱われたテーマ、新聞・雑誌を通した言論活動を担った知識人に関する基礎的な言説分析を行い、時系列でまとめた。
