本年度は、東日本大震災の被災三県のうちまだ足を運んでいなかった岩手県の岩手県立図書館において、震災から12年目、13回忌を迎えるのを前に調査研究を実施することができた。昨年10月末から11月初旬にかけて、岩手県立図書館において県紙『岩手日報』のデータベースを使用したキーワード検索や記事検索、並びに2011年から2021年の10年間にわたる3月10日から31日を中心に東日本大震災追悼式をめぐる新聞記事や過去の津波災害に関する郷土資料の収集を行った。昨年度の調査研究で収集した『福島民報』『福島民友』『河北新報』と『朝日新聞』『日本経済新聞』『毎日新聞』『讀賣新聞』『東京新聞』の報道を読み比べていたため、『岩手日報』の報道に目を通すことで、被災地では現在なお、地域や年代を超えて多くの人びとが被災を「自分ごと」として捉えていることが読み取れた。全国紙を中央からの視点とすると、被災三県の地方紙の辺境からの視点は「俯瞰的なマクロ」な捉え方に対峙する「焦点化したミクロな」捉え方を提示していることになる。ボランティア元年と言われた阪神淡路大震災から28年にわたって災害における「被災者に寄り添う報道」が求められるなか、今後、被災者に対する想いがどのように「他人（ひと）ごと」になって「風化」していくのか、その一端を検証することができた。
