项目摘要

ギリシア正教会とローマ・カトリック教会の統一（以下「東西教会合一」）という理念が、15世紀のフィレンツェ、ローマ、イタリアの地方都市やフランス等の美術作品に与えた影響関係が指摘されているにもかかわらず、ヴェネツィアの美術作品については、これまで等閑に付されてきた。本研究では、ヴェネツィアにおける「東西教会合一」という理念が与えた影響の諸相に関して、15世紀から16世紀始めを中心に、美術作品自体と美術作品をとりまく政治的・社会的・宗教的なコンテクストの両面から歴史的に検証することを目的にしている。一方の面である、本理念と実作例の影響関係については、令和5年3月にフィレンツェとローマにおいて、「東西教会合一」を象徴すると既に指摘されている先行例を再検証するとともに、新たな実作例の可能性の有無を調査した。ヴェネツィアにおいても、本理念を象徴すると想定される実作例の有無を調査し、画像データを収集した。もう一方の面である、当時のヴェネツィア美術をとりまく政治的・社会的・宗教的コンテクストについては、同時期に、ヴェネツィアの古文書館や美術史専門図書館などにおいて、ヴェネツィアの編年史（クロニクル）、ヴェネツィア共和国元首などの演説、日記、宗教行事記録、およびキリスト教の著作や説教集などの文献資料の調査・収集を行った。また、交付申請書の「研究実施計画」に記載したように、最終年度には、博士論文と補助事業期間の4年間におよぶ研究成果をまとめ、「ヴェネツィア、サン・ジョヴァンニ・クリゾストモ聖堂の装飾プログラム」に関する研究の集大成として、著書の刊行を目指している。その一つの柱となる本聖堂ベルナボ礼拝室に関する論文が国際学術雑誌Arte venetaに公刊された。
