本研究は、入力に含まれない統語範疇に言及した統語的制約が関与した現象を用いて、構造依存性に関する言語知識を子どもが有するかどうかを明らかにすることで、生成文法理論の理論的前提である「刺激の貧困」の妥当性を検証することを目的とする。これにより、従来の構造依存性の獲得研究が持つ、要素間の線形順序という統語情報を用いた類推による規則の一般化の問題を回避できる。2022年度は、新型コロナウイルスの影響が長引き、保育施設での幼児を対象にした実験の実施が非常に困難であった。したがって、感染症の影響を受けない形にするため、前年度に引き続き、以下のような研究を中心に進めた。具体的には、(1) 副詞節と主語の発話データの収集と分析、(2) 「日本語の主格主語はそれを認可するTP内に留まらなければならない」という統語的制約に着目し、TPを含むかどうかにより副詞節における主格主語の解釈が異なる文の理解実験の準備、(3) 発話コーパスを用いた副詞節および主格主語の入力の質的・量的分析、(4) 動詞句内に音形を持つ主語と目的語の生起に関する研究の批判的検討、(5) 幼児言語を対象にしたラベリング分析に関する検討を行った。(1)-(3)については、2022年9月に言語科学会第23回年次国際大会（JSLS2022）のシンポジウムで口頭発表を行い、Studies in Language Sciences: Journal of the Japanese Society for Language Sciences 第21巻で論文を発表した。また、2022年11月にボストン大学で行われたBUCLD 47でポスター発表を行った。(4)については、2022年11月に日本英語学会第20回大会で口頭発表を行い、JELS 20でその内容を論文として発表した。(5)については、北九州市立大学基盤教育センター紀要第40号に論文として投稿した。また、本年度の研究の意義は言語獲得における副詞節と主語の関連性について研究を進める上で必要な準備を進めることができた点にあるといえる。
