本研究は、プラットフォームビジネスの普及段階に応じたネットワーク効果の解明に取り組んでいる。令和4年度は、プラットフォームビジネスの代表例であるQRコード決済アプリ、その中でも個人間送金機能におけるネットワーク効果に着目した研究を実施した。QRコード決済アプリの利用率自体は高まっている一方で、個人間送金機能の利用率は高くない現状がある。また、個人間送金機能の利用者を調査すると、QRコード決済アプリを早く利用したユーザでも個人間送金機能を利用していないユーザもいれば、逆に、QRコード決済アプリを遅くに利用したユーザでも、個人間送金機能をすぐに利用したユーザもいる。そこで、本研究では、アンケート調査を実施して得られたデータを用いて共分散構造分析を行い、個人間送金機能の利用に影響を与える要因を分析し、QRコード決済アプリの利用開始時期が早いユーザグループと遅いユーザグループで比較をした。その結果、QRコード決済アプリの利用開始時期が早いユーザグループでは、個人間送金機能の「知覚された使いやすさ」に「周囲の利用状況」が正の影響を与えている、すなわちサイド内ネットワーク効果が働いているのに対し、QRコード決済アプリの利用開始時期が遅いユーザグループでは個人間送金機能の「知覚された使いやすさ」に「周囲の利用状況」が影響を与えていないことなどが明らかになり、ネットワーク効果に関する新たな知見を得た。それらの研究成果は国内学会で発表した。QRコード決済アプリを対象とした上述の研究に加え、フリマアプリやECサイトの普及段階に応じて、ユーザ数が多いことで、ユーザが感じるメリット・デメリットなどを整理し、それらとユーザの感じる満足度などに関するアンケートを実施した。これらの分析結果を、次年度に学会等で発表する予定である。
