1）外国人集住地域を含む自治体の公立Ａ、Bの2小学校に在籍する外国人児童に参加を依頼した。事前に、参加児童の状況に詳しい日本語教室担当教員と内容を打ち合わせのうえ、学校長と保護者に口頭と文書で了承を得た。DLA for JSL（文部科学省が開発し、公開している「外国人児童生徒のためのJSL対話型アセスメント（Dialogic Language Assessment for Japanese as a Second Language）」）の「 話す」「書く」「読む」「聴く」に準じて、Ａ、Bの各小学校の時間割に合わせて、1校時分の授業時間に重なる約40分間、参加児童との対面場面で日本語、母語の習得状況の調査を実施し、1年生、転入児の新規データとともに、過年度参加者からの縦断的データを取得した。2）参加児童の教室での活動を評価することを目的として、日本語教室、在籍学級での授業中の行動、教師や他児とのかかわりを記録した。3）A、B両小学校在籍の外国人児童を対象とした放課後補習教室を、民間外国人支援組織と連携して実施し、参加児童の学修支援と日本語習得支援を実施した。各児童に懇切、サポーティブにかかわることで、1年生には学習活動への導入、3年生以上には学習活動への動機付けのあり方に課題のあることを把握した。4）高学年の教室学習に困難があり、補習教室での活動にもなじみにくかった児童への個別学習支援を実施し、中学校進学に繋げる支援のあり方を探った。コロナ禍の継続による休校など、活動スケジュールの変更も発生したが、概ね予定の活動が実施できた。学修を支援するコロナ禍中適応の体制を人的・物的に整備し、次年度以降に繋がる効果的な実践の枠組みを構築できた。
