2022年度も長らくコロナ禍による勤務校の出張規制、および台湾での入国規制があったが、幸いにもそれらが解けた3月に台湾でのフィールドワークを行うことができた。当初計画で予定していた、台湾南部の高雄地方、および台湾東北部の宜蘭地方について、それぞれ自転車（台湾では自転車レンタルサービスが発達している）で地域を巡回しながら、現在に残る地形や用水路を確認し、撮影を行った。年度末でのフィールドワークであるため、従来から読解していた「台湾総督府档案」（台湾の国史館台湾文献館所蔵）などの「殖民地撰定」事業の記録と比べながらの、明治期開拓文献の読解は最終年度の課題となる。フィールドワーク以外では、昨年度同様に神戸市立中央図書館へ出張（今年度は学内経費のみ）して、同館が所蔵する『神戸又新日報』マイクロフィルムを閲覧し、港町神戸で把握されていた19世紀末台湾情報の読解に努めた他、東京大学の明治新聞雑誌文庫にて『台湾日報』を閲覧した（マイクロフィルム複写費を本科研から支出）。これも19世紀末台湾情報についての資料である。通常時においては、昨年度と同様に、ネットで入手した文献を利用しながら研究を行い、「台湾総督府档案」（台湾の国史館台湾文献館所蔵）など「殖民地撰定」事業に関する文献の整理解読を進めた。一昨年度に台湾の有料eジャーナルプロバイダの華藝（https://www.airitilibrary.com/）から入手した多数の関連論文については、今年度も台湾の研究を参照しながら、研究するのに有意義であった。研究成果の公表は今年度も、紀要論文ながら行うことができた。

In 2022, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a report on Taiwan's entry into the country. The original plan was to determine the location of Kaohsiung in southern Taiwan and Yilan in northeastern Taiwan, and to determine the location of the remaining terrain and waterways. "Taiwan General Government Archives"(Taiwan National History Museum, Taiwan Literature Museum),"Colonial Compilation" business records,"Meiji period pioneering literature" and "final year issues." In addition, the same year as last year, the Kobe City Central Library issued a report (this year's academic expenses), and the same museum held the "Kobe Shinichi" report. The Hong Kong City Shrine grasped the information of Taiwan at the end of the 19th century. The Meiji News Library of Tokyo read the "Taiwan Daily" report.
