本研究の2022年度は、当初の計画では研究の最終段階として、アルカイック期クレタにおける諸ポリスの公的碑文である金石文史料を形態・形式・形質に着目した比較考察を踏まえて、クレタに特徴的な歴史状況を法の社会化の観点から解明し、それをギリシア古代史におけるポリスの多様性のなかに位置づける研究の綜合化へと進んでいくはずであった。しかし、2020年度初から2022年度夏期までの新型コロナウィルスの感染拡大により、実地検分をともなう現地調査が事実上ほとんど実行不可能になった状況の下では、英国ロンドンの大英博物館における「スペンシティオス規定」記載の青銅製武具ミトラ碑文の実測調査については、ようやく2022年秋に実施を実現できたものの、その他のクレタ金石文史料については、今年度も引き続き刊行資料と公開データの利用のみにもとづく考察にとどめざるを得なかった。しかしながら、クレタの小邑ポリスであるドレーロスに関し、同地出土のギリシア最古の法碑文のテキスト分析と、その地域の考古学的な領域調査の成果を対照させることによって、当該法碑文の出現状況と中心市街地を欠くポリスの存在状況を歴史的に再構成する論考を試みた。その試論を研究成果の一部として『駿台史学』第177号の誌上に発表し、この金石文の検討を通じて、本研究の主要な目標の一つである、クレタにおけるもう一つのポリス・モデルを提示することにまで、考察の射程を延ばすことができた。
