项目摘要

本研究の目的は、中近世の神社を対象として、（１）神社建築を造営した工匠の移動と、（２）神社本殿建築の移動（移築）に着目し、その流通に支えられた神社の再生について建築史学的に解明することである。（１）に関しては、中近世の建築意匠と技法調査について現地調査をふまえて実施するなかで、とくに畿内とその近国における神社本殿の内法長押を対象として、正面見廻しや枕捌にみられる特徴と変化について明らかにし、それらの意匠をもつ建築を造営した工匠との関係を見出した。内法長押の正面見廻しを用いた技法は、近世に向けて装飾化を伴い変化していく中世神社本殿において、正面性の表現に一役を担ったと考えられる。とくに内陣と外陣が区分されることで、外陣正面が板扉の場合は祭礼時などに暫定的な開放性を獲得し、また外陣正面が格子であれば見え隠れによる恒久的な開放性をもつとみられ、ここに正面の内法長押を見廻して透かし彫りの彫刻欄間を入れることで開放性は装飾化とともに高まることがうかがえる。このような意匠は、室町後期までには摂津や紀伊の一間社ですでに確立していた。また、こうした展開の背景には、四天王寺系の大工による造営関与が共通要素として確認できた。これらの成果は2023年4月に「畿内中世神社本殿の内法長押に関する意匠と技法―見廻しと枕捌にみる近世初頭への変容」（日本建築学会計画系論文集，806，pp.1378-1387）として発表予定である。（２）に関しては、現在の春日大社本殿および若宮神社本殿から移築された畿内各地の旧社殿を比較検討するなかで、（１）と共通する神社の正面性に関する課題に着目し、内法長押と繋虹梁との納まりについて、奈良県内の春日造との比較も踏まえて分類を行い、旧社殿の特質を明らかにした。
