2022年8月27日～9月11日には、本研究課題での研究期間開始後初となる現地調査を実施した。教育省、言語政策庁、先住民教育局、統計局、米州開発銀行、イベロアメリカ諸国機構等の様々な機関を訪問し、各分野の専門家にバイリンガル教育の実績や課題・問題点等に関し聞き取り調査を行なった。教育省ではカリキュラムや教育評価、教員養成の責任者にインタビューするとともに、貴重な一次資料を入手することができた。言語政策庁でも、19ある先住民共同体でのバイリンガル教育（先住民語＋グァラニー語またはスペイン語）の取り組みや直面する課題について、より具体的な情報を得た。教育現場についても、公立・私立・NPO立の計6校（小学校5、幼稚園1）を訪問し、主にグァラニー語教育の授業で参与観察を行なった。また、ラテンアメリカ社会科学研究所の研究者とは、将来的な共同研究の可能性も探ることができ、2週間という短い期間ではあったものの、極めて充実した現地調査を実施できた。同年12月には、日本ラテンアメリカ学会東日本研究部会（Zoomホスト：上智大学）で「パラグアイにおけるバイリンガル教育の展開と国民アイデンティティの醸成」と題する発表をオンラインで行なった。そこでは、四半世紀余におよぶ同教育の取り組みを通じ、社会的に低位の言語とみなされてきたグアラニー語の復権と、それに基づく国民アイデンティティの再構築がめざされてきたと指摘した。2023年3月には、『多文化共生研究年報』第20号に「パラグアイにおける教育改革の理念とバイリンガル教育の実践」（pp.37-48／査読有）が掲載された。本拙稿では、パラグアイにおけるバイリンガル教育の理念や目標を振り返りつつ、現地調査で得た知見を踏まえ、公教育の現場が抱える具体的課題について考察した。

From August 27 to September 11, 2022, the field survey was conducted at the beginning of the research period of this research project. For more than four and a half centuries, the same education system has been established, and the society has been established. In March 2023,"Multicultural Symbiosis Research Annual Report" No. 20,"Education Reform Concept and Practice"(pp. 37 -48/Cha) was published. This article is about the concept and purpose of education, the knowledge gained from field investigation, and the specific topic of public education.
