项目摘要

2022年度は、二つの版（1596年版と1637年版）が存在するイングランドの理論書『音楽への小道』に対し、印刷時の修正箇所 (stop-press variants)を含む国外での調査を予定していた。1637年版はオリジナル資料の破損が大きいため、現地調査が必要であったが、引き続き、新型コロナウイルス関連の影響により渡航する見通しが立たず、今年度中の調査は実現できなかった。しかし『音楽への小道』の1637年版を所蔵するアメリカのハンティングトン図書館（Huntington Library）のライブラリアンのご厚意により、1596年版における判読困難な箇所について、1637年版の実物から情報を提供して頂くことができたことから、『音楽への小道』の全体像の把握の点で進展があった。そこで、当初計画していた国外での資料調査が難しい状況が続いたことを踏まえ、申請時記載の研究目的の範囲内において、計画の一部の方針の見直しを行なうこととし、これまでに収集、分析したデータを参照しながら、『音楽への小道』を研究対象の中心に据え、本著作の批判校訂版の作成を進めた。校訂報告の導入部分として、同時代のイングランドで出版された著作における『音楽への小道』の位置づけ、この著作の構成、特異性について執筆することと並行して、実際の校訂作業の中では、元来のフォーマットを維持する形での文字入力と校訂報告の作成、またテクスト間の音符、記号などをデータで作成する方法の検討を重ねた。
