项目摘要

本研究は1910～20年代の日本、アメリカ、ドイツにおいて、無声映画がどのように上映されていたのかを、伴奏音楽に着目して明らかにすることを課題とする。楽譜、フィルム、文献などを収集・分析する歴史研究の基礎的手法を徹底し、地域や言語の枠組みを超えた無声映画伴奏のグローバルな展開の実態を解明することを目的としている。3年目となる2022年度は、資料調査と成果発表の両面で一定の成果が挙がった。7月には早稲田大学演劇博物館演劇映像学連携研究拠点で実施している無声映画期の映画館チラシを対象とする共同研究チームの一員として、表象文化論学会第16回大会（東京都立大学）にてドイツ映画の日本における受容をめぐる発表を行った。また8月には、国際音楽学会2022（IMS、アテネ大学）で、無声映画伴奏譜の世界的な流通に関して、日本、アメリカ、ヨーロッパでの資料調査の結果を活用した研究発表を行った。国内外でのこうした研究発表にくわえ、ベルリンのドイチェ・キネマテークや東京の早稲田大学演劇博物館などで、楽譜資料や文献資料の調査に関しても一定程度の進捗があった。年度末には、名古屋における無声映画伴奏に関わる調査報告を含むシンポジウム「モダン文化の〈場所〉－－松坂屋、地方映画館、名古屋の洋楽」（名古屋外国語大学）を企画し、映画学、音楽学などのさまざまな分野の専門家との意見交換をする機会を得た。また南山大学ヨーロッパ研究センター紀要へ講演記録を寄稿したほか、無声映画期のドイツにおける伴奏音楽や映画館に関する論文を準備している。
