项目摘要

本研究では保育者、子ども、動物の三者の観点から調査することで、教育効果と動物福祉を両立させることができる保育者、子ども、動物の関係性を明らかにし、保育施設の現状にあった「動物を介在させた教育の手引き」の作成へ貢献することを目的とする。研究当初は、飼育活動の際の保育者、子ども、動物の行動観察を中心に調査を行う（保育者、子どもに関しては発話の記録も行う）。行動観察と共に、保育者には飼育活動に関する事項、動物への態度調査を行い、動物については、糞中ホルモンからストレス値を測定する。これらの調査から、保育者と子ども、子どもと動物、保育者と動物の関係性とその影響を明らかにすることとしていた。しかしながら、コロナウイルス流行下で実施が難しい点が発生したため、各手法について再検討を行ってきた。3者の関係を明らかにするにあたって、コロナウイルス流行下での実施も可能であり、現場に負担のないように検討を行った。保育者の意識調査は直接聞き取り及び援助時の行動とし、協力園と相談して、実施するものとした。動物のストレス値については、当初糞（非侵襲的手法）からの測定を検討していたが、連続での訪問が不可であることから、糞以外からのストレス値測定の再検討を行った。その結果、毛からのストレス値測定が可能であり、現場の負担を最小限にしつつ実施できることから、3ヵ月または1.5ヵ月おきの2～3回採取での検討とすることにした。子どもと動物の関わりにおいては防犯カメラを活用し、2週間の連続記録するものとした。また、観察期間は保育者や子どもの状況に応じ、変化が生じた場合改めて2週間の連続記録を行うこととした。
