本研究は、大腸がん検診の受診者及び非受診者に対して、介入型啓発活動の効果を明らかにするため、大阪府・京都府・兵庫県・奈良県・和歌山県・滋賀県・三重県の近畿地方における大腸がん検診者をセグメント「受診者①受診行動を維持しているセグメント（実際に受診している）」、「非受診者②受診の実行意思を持つセグメント（いつ、どこで受診するか試行している）」、③受診への目標意思を持つセグメント（受診するつもりである）、④受診に無関心なセグメント（受診の意思がない）に分類し、社会状況を鑑みながら対象者への調査を継続して実施している。また、コントロール群と介入群に分けた介入群に対して、ICTを用いたインタラクティブな受診勧奨の有効性、受診者の立場に立った利便性への配慮など、正しい知識の普及に向けた教育的介入も少しづつではあるが継続して子なっている段階である。対象者へ継続した横断的介入と追跡調査を行うことで、近畿地方における大腸がん検診の受診行動サポート体制の運用と確保への強化につながると考え介入型啓発活動を根強く継続していく必要がある。
