Cultivating Cultural Intelligence (CQ): Designing a pedagogy for the 21st century

The key scientific question is to investigate how CQ can be developed at the Higher Education (HE) level by using technologically enhanced educational approaches to build an integrative pedagogy for intercultural learning in online, blended and hybrid-type environments. Research process and progress aspects:1. Data collection process (3 main sets) was completed2. Analysis phase has started and preliminary results were presented at international conferences (online).3. Most equipment acquisition was completed (one possible item still outstanding).4. The university adopted a new Learning Management System (LMS) and materials had to be shifted and adapted to a new system. Although it caused some delay, the process is nearing completion.5. A research gap was identified through the present investigation (broadly: affective component in CQ research) that would be a possible focus point for future research. However, a final assessment of this aspect will be conducted once all the data have been analysed. Once this is confirmed, adjustments to the framework will be made and further attempts to consider a new avenue for the research may be undertaken. At this stage, this is a preliminary finding.
