本研究の第１の目的は，対面相談と遠隔相談の差異および遠隔相談における効果的な援助スキルを解明することである。第２の目的は，遠隔相談における援助スキルのガイドラインを開発し，効果検証を行うことである。そのために，研究Ⅰでは，相談実験を実施し，それを録画した映像解析による検証と相談者へのインタビューによる検証を行う予定である。研究Ⅱでは，開発されたガイドラインを援助者養成プログラムへ応用する実践を行い，ガイドラインの効果検証を行う予定である。これらの研究成果を情報発信することにより，科学的根拠に基づいた質の高い遠隔相談の普及を目指している。2022年度は，遠隔相談を経験しているカウンセラーに対してインタビュー調査を行った。特に，遠隔相談と対面相談における援助スキルの差異やカウンセリングプロセスの差異，クライエントの反応の差異に焦点を当てて調査を行った。その語りを合議法により分類し，援助スキルの差異を分析した。インタビューの結果から，カウンセリングの目的やオリエンテーションによっても，遠隔相談の様子が異なることが明らかになったため，現在は，カウンセリングの目的の違いによる差異についても検討を進めている。また，COVID-19パンデミックの影響を受けて面接実践の実施が困難な状況が続いていたため，計画を一部変更し，相談者が遠隔カウンセリングで相談したい内容についてのアンケート調査を実施した。その結果から得られた遠隔相談における相談者のニーズについて，日本カウンセリング学会第54回大会で発表した。
