本研究の目的は、育児支援をする祖母の疲労を測定し、疲労と生活の質の関連を明らかにすることである。疲労と生活の質の関連を明らかにすることで、支援者として活躍する祖母自身の生涯発達への支援をする際の基礎資料となりうる。子育て期間、特に産褥期から生後3ヶ月頃までの期間では、家庭内での支援が主となり、家事・育児を乗り切るために、祖母は子育ての支援者として活用されている。孫への育児支援をすることは、祖母世代の女性にとって精神的健康に関し両価性な影響を与え、身体的健康への影響について心身の疲労が複数語られている。加えて、子育て支援をすることによって、祖母自身が生活の質とは何かに向き合い、自らその価値を見出すといわれている。しかし、子育て支援をする祖母の疲労と生活の質の関連は明らかではない。これまでに子育て支援の中で生じる疲労を測定する尺度はなく、祖母の疲労を適切に評価することが困難であったことから、研究代表者は生後3ヶ月以内の孫への子育て支援をする祖母の疲労に特化した「祖母用育児支援疲労感尺度」の開発をし、祖母の疲労に対する評価を行ってきた。その研究を基に本研究に取り組んでいる。2022年度は、本研究の基礎資料となる2021年度に投稿した「祖母用育児支援疲労感尺度」を用いた祖母の疲労に対する評価の投稿に対する査読への対応を行っている。並行し、文献検討や学術集会からの情報収集により本研究の調査項目について検討し、調査票内容、研究方法を精錬させることに取りくみ、倫理審査に向けた研究計画書の作成をした。また、倫理審査に向けた準備として倫理研修の受講、研究遂行に向けコンプライアンス研修の受講をした。
