本研究は、これまでの琉球文学研究で看過されてきた琉球沖縄における男性歌唱者のうたう（あるいは唱える）儀礼歌謡に注目し、歌の構造と文学的表現に関する研究を進めるための基礎研究である。具体的には、①歌のうたわれる祭祀場面において、誰がどこでどのような歌をうたうのかという観点をもとに調査・整理をおこなうこと、②儀礼歌謡に関する史資料を収集し整理すること、の２点の作業をおこなう。令和4年度は、八重山の祭祀調査を予定していたが、新型コロナウイルスの全県的な流行に伴い祭祀調査が予定通り実施できなかった。そのため、本年度は儀礼歌謡に関する史資料調査を重点的におこなった。主に那覇市歴史博物館、国立台湾大学図書館、沖縄県立図書館所蔵の宮古・八重山の歌謡に関する史資料のリスト化と、一部写真撮影・翻刻作業、およびテキスト化を進めた。その成果は「琉球文学資料　川平朝彬「八重山歌之粒寄」について」（『沖縄史料編集紀要』46）、「琉歌大観巻五　八重山島の歌」（『国立台湾大学図書館典蔵　琉歌大観』第4巻）に反映している。前者では、那覇市歴史博物館所蔵・川平朝彬編『三線四種之調子音調之次第』に入っている歌集「八重山歌之粒寄」を翻刻してテキスト化をおこなった。また、関連資料として同資料に入る「正元歌道要法並節組」の翻刻、テキスト化も並行しておこなった。後者は、国立台湾大学図書館所蔵の真境名安興編『琉歌大観』巻五に収められている歌集「八重山島の歌」を翻刻・訳付けをおこない、解題を付して紹介したもので、その中からは八重山の新築儀礼歌＜松金ゆんた＞、波照間島の豊年祭でうたわれる＜豊年躍の歌＞＜巻躍の歌＞、与那国島の豊年祭及び新築儀礼でうたわれる＜かなゝん＞などの歌を収集することができた。また、同資料には祭祀と歌の関わりを知れる重要な情報も含まれており、この貴重な資料を収集できたことは意義深いものとなった。
