本研究申請と並行して執筆していた「母子生活支援施設を区分して運営することの課題と可能性:地域に開かれた施設とDV対応の閉鎖した施設の比較から」（全国児童養護問題研究会（2022）『社会的養護研究』(2)掲載）において、現在の母子生活支援施設が置かれている諸状況から勘案すると、現存する母子生活支援施設のみで地域に開かれた施設とDV対応の閉鎖した施設を区分して運営することは現実的ではないことを明らかにした。特に、施設数が減少し定員充足率が低下する現状においては、区分して運営することの是非を問う以前に定員充足率の向上と施設運営の安定化が必要であることが明らかとなった。そのうえで母子世帯が抱えるDV問題とそれ以外の様々な生活問題を区分して支援するためには、婦人保護施設をはじめとした関連施設と母子生活支援施設の連携と専門分化が必要である。この点については2024年度以降に予定しているドイツにおける母子支援施設の実態調査から、日本における母子支援の施設体系のあり方を考えていきたい。国内における母子生活支援施設を対象とした研究においては、母子生活支援施設がひとつも設置されていない自治体が増加していることから、ひとまず施設数減少に歯止めをかける必要がある。そこで、2023年度はこの問題について対策を考えていきたい。具体的には、母子生活支援施設の認知度に関する調査と、SNS（Instagram）を利用して情報発信をしている施設の調査である。これらの調査結果から、さらなる研究課題の設定を予定している。
