本研究では、マラウイにおいて実施されている社会的保護政策に注目し、政策と農村生計への効果を農村世帯レベルからの実証研究を積み上げることから、国レベルの実態を明らかにすることを試みるものである。本研究では調査研究が中心となることから、マクロレベル、ミクロレベルそれぞれに以下の通り実施することを計画した。【申請当初の計画:令和4年度の調査・研究計画】（マクロ調査）マラウイ全土の状況を把握するため、統計局が保有する統合世帯調査データを入手する。各政策を統括する省庁が発行している、実施・評価レポートを入手する。（ミクロ調査）マラウイ 南部地域の村を調査対象地域とし、農村世帯に対する聞き取り調査をおこなう。(成果発表）調査で得られた新規データおよび，これまで申請者が蓄積してきたデータの両方を用いて学会での研究成 果発表および論文投稿へ向け準備を進める。【令和4年度の調査・研究実績】（マクロ調査）各政策を統括する省庁が発行している、実施・評価レポートを入手するため統計局、農業省、ジェンダー・子供・障害・福祉省から可能な限りのレポートおよびデータを入手した。（ミクロ調査）2月の現地への渡航が実現できなかったことから、聞き取り調査の実施はなし。(成果発表）2023年8月に他の事業で渡航した際に得た生計データをもとに分析をおこなった。学会発表および論文投稿に向けて準備を進めている。以上、今年度は申請当初の計画どおりミクロ調査を実施することはできなかった。しかし、その点は申請者がこれまで蓄積してきたデータを用いることで補填し、研究成果発表に繋がるよう努めた。
