東日本大震災の原発事故により被災した地域では、避難指示解除後も帰還が進まず、人口の減少や高齢化によるコミュニティの維持が課題となっている。コミュニティの再構築には、ソーシャル・キャピタルがキーとなり、心身の健康や自治体のサポート、生活環境の整備などが基盤になると考えられる。本研究の目的は、栄養状態が健康状態に直結するという前提を疑い、ソーシャル・キャピタルが媒介的・修飾的な効果をもちうるという観点から、ソーシャル・キャピタルの違いが栄養状態やフレイルを中心とした健康状態に与える影響を明らかにすることである。避難の有無に加え、帰還の時期等を年月に組み込むことで、避難・帰還が健康に与える影響をソーシャル・キャピタルの関連の中で明らかにし、行政施策や政策の指針となるデータを得る。それに基づき、被災自治体のソーシャル・キャピタルと健康増進についてのモデルの立案、提案を行い、住民の帰還促進や持続可能な生活の実現のために寄与することを目指す。本研究は、3か年計画により、健診データの解析、栄養状態、フレイルなどの健康状態の詳細な調査、並びにソーシャル・キャピタルに関わる調査を展開している。しかし、2022年度は新型コロナウイルス感染症により、計画していた予備調査を行うことができなかった。そのため、既存のデータの解析を行い、現状の課題を抽出した。また、調査対象の葛尾村は老年人口割合が47.1％（2020年）と高い。福島県内の老年人口の割合が27.9％（2020年）と低い鏡石町の健康増進につながる特徴を捉えるために既存のデータを用い、家庭菜園の実施、主観的健康観、生活満足度や身体活動の関連について解析を行った。男女ともに家庭菜園をしている人は、身体活動の時間が長い人の割合が高く、女性では、家庭菜園をしている人は、生活に満足している人の割合が有意に高いことが示唆された。
