今年度は，次年度の横断調査実施の際に使用する尺度を作成することを予定していた。尺度項目の策定が難航し，データの取得までは至らなかったが，項目選定のための予備調査として，中学生を対象として2度の調査を実施した。それらの調査では，コンパッションを自らに向けること，他者へ向けること，他者から受け取ることについて，感想を求める自由記述データを取得した。これらの調査により，中学生がコンパッションをどのように理解しているかということと，コンパッショネイトであることに関する困難さや恐れをどのように感じているのかということについて，示唆を得ることができた。さらに，海外のコンパッションに関する研究者と数度の研究打ち合わせを行い，調査者自身のコンパッションに関する理解を深めると同時に，日本語で調査する際の留意点について検討することができた。項目例についても提供を受けることができた。以上の進捗により，調査項目を確定するまでには至らなかったが，次年度に早急に調査に取り掛かるための準備を行うことができた。
