本研究の前段階として、博士論文では「都市部においてがんの妻との死別を体験する高齢男性への訪問看護ケア方法の開発ー独居となる生活の再構築に焦点をあてて―」の研究Ⅰとして、関東ブロックに住むがんの妻と死別した高齢男性8名に半構造化面接を行い、面接内容は、木下の修正版グラウンテッドアプローチで分析した。その結果の一部は、「都市部においてがんの妻を看取った男性高齢者が生活を再構築するプロセス－2事例の分析から-」として論文化し、これを受け、令和2年度（2020年度）研究活動スタート支援（課題番号：DK23208）『都市部に暮らす独居高齢男性のがんの妻との死別後の「生活の再構築」プロセスの解明』の助成を受け、がんの妻と死別した高齢男性への半構造化面接調査を継続して行っている。前述の研究で得られたデータと比較分析している。2022年11月発刊「臨床老年看護」で「独居高齢男性の妻と死別後のグリーフワーク」のタイトルで世代の違う高齢男性の事例を引用し、調査結果の一部：世代の違う高齢男性の妻との死別後の生活について、独居生活をスタートして以降の生活について、生活の再構築という視点で分析し、発表した。2023年3月　26th　East Asian Forum of Nursing Scholars（26th　EAFONS）にて”Lifestyle reconstruction of older men living alone in urban areas following the death of their wives”としてポスター発表した。

The first stage of this study is to analyze the semi-structured interface between the wife and the death of the male in the city department and the revised version of the interface between the wife and the death of the male in the city department. The results of this research include: "Analysis of the case of urban women's lifestyle reconstruction" and "Cultural Studies". Research activities in 2020 (Project ID: DK23208)"A semi-structured surface survey on the reception, wife and death of a male who lives alone in a high-rise building in the urban area." The above mentioned research results in comparative analysis. In November 2022, the issue of "Clinical Geriatric Care" was published."The wife of a single high-aged man and the change of life after death" were cited. One part of the survey results was: the life of a high-aged man after death, the life of a single high-aged man, and the reconstruction of life.
