项目摘要

本研究は、雑誌『実業之日本』が明治大正期に発信した修養に関する言説に注目し、その言説の思想的特徴、編集顧問(1909～1912)として修養言説を継続的に発表した新渡戸稲造(1862-1933)と他の修養言説の執筆者とが有していたネットワークについてあきらかにすることを目的とするものである。上記の目的に向けて以下の計画で研究を実施した。雑誌『実業之日本』は主に国立国会図書館で収集を行った。収集した資料については量的分析(執筆者、タイトル、掲載年)、質的分析(執筆者の思想、頻出ワードを手がかりとした内容の分析)を行った。分析の結果、当該時期における修養言説の中心的な執筆者は増田義一(実業之日本社社長)、新渡戸稲造、浮田和民(大正期中心)らであったこと、他の執筆者としては渋沢栄一などの実業家、教育者、宗教家を確認することができた。そして、そこに新渡戸と実業之日本社、早稲田大学関係等との知的ネットワークを見出すことができた。修養言説の内容では苦境を乗り越え「成功」するための心の鍛錬が重視され、成功者の体験や古典を取り上げて具体性を持たせて説くことが多くみられ、「実業国民」の人格教育のあり様として注目される。研究成果として、その一部を「『実業之日本』と修養」(日本宗教学会、2015年9月)など、学会や研究会で口頭発表を行った。今後、口頭発表をもとに論考を学会誌に投稿する予定である。

This study focuses on the characteristics of speech and thought in the Meiji Taisho period and the development of speech and thought in the Meiji Taisho period, and on the author of other speech and thought in the Niigata period (1862-1933). The above objectives are directed towards the implementation of the following research projects. "Japan of Industry" is the main theme of the National Congress Library. Collection of data for quantitative analysis (author, date, year), qualitative analysis (author's thoughts, frequency, hand, content) As a result of the analysis, the authors of the center of self-cultivation in this period were Yoshiichi Kazuda (president of the company), Inzo Niwatari, Kazutomi Ukita (center of Taisho period), and their authors were confirmed as entrepreneurs, educators, and religious experts. It is now possible to see the new ferry and the relationship between our company and Waseda University. The content of self-cultivation is more difficult than success. The mind is more important than success. The body of success is more classical. The mind is more specific than success. The personality education of practical people is more important than success. Research results: "Japan in Practice"(Japan Religious Society, September 2015). In the future, the oral expression will be discussed and the academic journal will be submitted.
