後発途上国での地震発生は社会基盤が脆弱であるため被災が拡大している。特に文化遺産建造物の被害は深刻であるが、文化財という特殊性により単なる人的・物的な国際的な支援だけではなく、当該文化遺産の本来の価値が失われないような保存修復計画の策定が必要である。しかし、後発途上国の文化遺産に関する研究は成立背景や意匠の変遷などのものがほとんどで、保存修復を実行する時に直接的な影響を与える材料や職人など生産システムに関する調査はほとんど行われていない。また、後発途上国の文化遺産分野における長期的な支援という側面からも文化遺産の生産システムに関する調査研究は欠かせないものである。そこで、本研究は、後発途上国の文化遺産建造物における教育・材料・職人など生産システムの実態を明らかにすることで、今後後発途上国の文化遺産建造物に関する保存修復活動に資する基礎資料を構築することを目的とする。調査対象地域としては現在文化遺産建造物の保存修復が行われているミャンマー・バガンとネパール・カトマンズを選定した。ミャンマーでは2回(7月14日～7月17日、11月30日～12月4日)にかけて職人16人、公務員2人、レンガ工場2社の計20主体、ネパールでは2月26日・27日に工務店1社、職人1人、レンガ工場2社の計4主体に対する聞き取り調査を実施した。聞き取り調査ではまず、(1)経歴、仕事に携わるようになった経緯、専門分野、実績などの基本情報を確認し、次に(2)職人組織の構成、受注経路および地域、資材購入方法など生産システムにかかわる項目を把握した上で、最後に(3)伝統構法・技術の継承に対する認識と先進諸国による技術支援について意見を求めた。本研究を通して、ミャンマー・バガンとネパール・カトマンズは田舎と大都市という差により、施工においては免許のない職人集団と工務店、主な建材であるレンガ生産においては地域住民による小規模生産と外部の人たちによる大規模生産という相違点がある一方で、血縁関係を中心とする集団構成、経験に依存する施工、専門とする工程以外の技能も遂行する多能工的な面があることを明らかにしました。さらに文化遺産としての価値基準となるのは建造物の外形のみで、構法や技術における文化的な価値は認識していないことを明らかにした。

This study focuses on the construction of small scale production, mass production, and the relationship between small scale production and mass production. It is clear that there are many aspects of multi-functional work that can be performed with skills other than engineering. Cultural heritage is valued according to the shape and structure of the building. Cultural heritage is valued according to the understanding of the building.
