○研究目的明治24年に創刊された第五高等学校龍南会発行の校友会雑誌『龍南会雑誌』『龍南』には、夏目漱石、厨川白村、村川堅固、下村湖人、犬養孝、大川周明、梅崎春生、木下順二など多数の著名人が寄稿しており、研究者の興味を引いてきた。近代の思想・文学研究、教育史研究などに資するため、目次のデータベース化、原本の収集などを行い、それをもとに龍南会雑誌等の五高史料公開を充実させる研究を行う。○研究方法龍南会雑誌の目次をもとに、原本及びコピーで内容を確認しながら掲載項目をデータベース化する。これにより発行回数や発行人、また編集委員や所属部の変遷など龍南会に関する基礎データをまとめる。○研究成果1、発刊ペース、頁数1891〜1898年10回・平均65P、1899〜1904年6〜7回・平均108P、1905〜1912年5回・平均102P、1913〜1931年4回・平均ll9P、1932〜1939年3回・平均107P、1940〜1942年2回・平均97P、1943〜年1回・平均94P2、発行人表記の変化および内容の変化について発行人の表示に変化がみられるのは、全国の高等学校社会科学研究会が強制解散させられ、思想の絞めつけが厳しくなっていた大正15年である。これまで雑誌部と称していたのが文芸部という名称となるが、昭和7年五高に同盟休校が起こった後は、再び雑誌部となっている。また、掲載記事の傾向は大正ころから、世相的なものは姿を潜め、文芸的なものが多くを占めるようになる。3、編集委員・所属部について毎年雑誌委員が選出され、編集にあたる。文芸の欄の執筆も担当し、雑誌委員は龍南会雑誌・龍南にとって重要な役割を担っていた。毎年度の最終号には雑誌委員の「擱筆の辞」が掲載されている。また、所属部も当初の5部から漸次増加し、報国団に改組される前年の昭和14年には18部となっている。
