项目摘要

手話学習における最大の問題点は、手話が視覚中心の言語であるためノートを取ることができず、自習することができない点である。そのため、本研究では、高校生を対象とした手話ビデオ教材を制作し、より効果的・効率的な手話学習法について研究した。本年度制作したのは、「色」「曜日」「数」「家族関係」「学校」「1日(朝昼晩)」の6本で、それぞれ2分から5分の手話学習用ビデオ教材である。このビデオ教材は、音声日本語および日本語字幕を用いず、手話だけで手話が理解できるように構成してあり、手話学習初心者でも、日本語を介さずに基本的な手話を習得することができる。制作したビデオ教材はネット上にアップし、「総合的な学習の時間」において設置している「初級手話講座」受講生に、パスワードを与えた上でビデオ学習させた。また、「初級手話講座」の授業はべてビデオ収録し、編集したものを授業において活用した。ビデオ教材を活用してろう者講師の手話を繰り返し学習することで、生徒の手話読み取り能力は着実に伸びたと思われる。2011年10月に実施した手話読み取りテスト(50問)は平均91.1点であり、2012年3月に実施した手話読み取りテスト(80問)は平均82点であった。比較の対象がないため、その効果を評価することができないが、生徒のアンケートを読むかぎり、多くの生徒が講師の手話を読み取れるようになったと感じている。今回の研究で、これまでなかった高校生向けの効果的な手話学習用ビデオ教材を制作することができた。このビデオは、高校生に限らず手話学習初期の学習者にたいへん有効である。今後は、手話講座を設置している高校で本ビデオ教材を使用してもらい、その効果を検証し内容を改善しつつ、さらに効果的な手話学習用ビデオ教材を制作していきたい。
