○研究目的:小学校理科の更なる充実のため,家庭・地域で実施できる生物を対象とした生物観察指導プログラム(以下,プログラムと略記)を開発する。○研究方法:1 関東の自然系博物館における親子及び子どもを対象とした生物観察会に関するWebページを閲覧し優れた取組を明らかにする。また,その博物館を視察する。2 上記の調査を参考に千葉県立中央博物館研究員,教育委員会指導主事及び小学校教員の協力を得て,プログラムを開発する。○研究成果:1 Web調査及び視察(1)神奈川県立生命の星・地球博物館及び葛西臨海公園鳥類園では,所属研究員(職員)や外部講師の有する専門性を活かし,特色ある親子観察会を数多く実施している。(2)子どもは昆虫に関心が高く,大人は植物に関心が高い。(3)兄弟姉妹で参加する場合があり,事故防止に注意する必要がある。2 プログラムの開発開発に際しては,次の3方針で行うこととした。(1)親から子どもへの声かけのポイントを明記し,観察から得られる感動を親子で共有できるような工夫をする。(2)写真を多用し,理科を苦手とする親にも分かりやすい内容とする。(3)観察対象は,家庭,家庭周辺の空き地,公園等で普通に観察できる草本,樹木,昆虫,土壌生物,野鳥,哺乳類等とする。研究開発のための打ち合わせは,3回開催し,内容に関する議論をした。開発したプログラムは23テーマである。その内訳は(1)季節に応じた観察,(2)通年で可能なもの及び(3)春と夏など複数の季節で観察が可能なものである。3 研究成果物の完成とその配付研究成果物を各県教育委員会,千葉県内の公立小学校,日本理科教育学会及び地域の理科教育研究集会等に配付し,学校での活用を依頼するとともに成果物を評価していただき,内容の更なる改善を図ることとした。
