【研究目的】「コーチング」は目標を明確にし、それに向かって自ら考え行動していくための手法のひとつである。医療分野では、看護師等の教育、医療スタッフ(医師、看護師等)が患者に対してコーチングを取り入れ、リハビリや薬物療法への積極的な関与に応用する等の報告がある。申請者は、薬剤師教育にコーチングを用いることで、他の医療スタッフや患者との円滑なコミュニケーション等を介して、より安全で適正な薬物療法に貢献できるのではないかと考えた。そこで、本研究では、より効果的な薬剤師教育につながるコーチングの取り入れ方を検討するため、コーチングを実践しながら、データ収集するとともに、個々のコミュニケーション能力やパフォーマンス向上の度合いを数値化し、コーチング前後で比較・解析した。これらをもとに、コーチングの薬剤師教育への関わり方を評価し、効果的な薬剤師教育システムを構築することを目的とした。【方法・計画】対象は、今年度薬剤部に配属になった新人16名とした。期間は平成23年9月～平成24年1月とし、コーチングを行う場所は調剤室とした。コーチングは1対1の3分間コーチングを基本とし、必要に応じて延長して行った。また、コーチングスキルの維持および、新人へのコーチングによる評価を適正に行うため、新人へのコーチングとは別に申請者自身がメンターコーチによるコーチングプログラムを受講した。【結果・考察】コーチングを通して新人教育の進捗状況を個々に把握し、目標と到達期間の設定や関わるタイミング等について、コーチングによる手法を用いて個別対応を促進させたことで、例年に比べて脱落者なく薬剤師教育が推進された。今回の結果より、新人教育にコーチングの手法を取り入れることは有用であることが示唆された。
