20歳以上の大田区居住者を対象にRDD(Random Digit Dialing)法を用いた電話調査によって実施し、178世帯より回答を得た。電話帳の収載状況については160世帯(89.9%)が回答した。このうち、回答者における「電話帳」収載率は66.2%(106世帯)と算出された。回答者は、男女比が0.54(56/103)で女性が回答者の2/3を占め、回答者の平均年齢は47.8歳(20〜91歳)であり、20歳代が最も多く(21.9%)、次いで50歳代(18.7%)が多くなっていた。電話帳収載の有無で回答者属性(性別,年齢,世帯人員数,電話所有状況,電話共用状況,職種)について検討したところ、年齢・世帯人員数・電話共用状況が「電話帳収載」と関連していた。すなわち、年齢は高年齢ほど「電話帳」収載率は増加し(X^2=26.3,p=0.00)、また世帯人員数が多いほど収載率も高い(X^2=17.5,p=0.00)。また、調査対象電話を家族が共用している世帯で収載率が高い(X^2=5.9,p=0.00)。このとき、従来より言われている性別による収載率の違いには差は見られなかったが、男性で収載率がやや高い傾向が認められた。また、電話の所有数も「電話帳」掲載との関連はなかった。以上の結果は、「電話帳」の収載状況に電話所有者の属性が影響していることを示すものである。「電話帳」収載状況によって回答者を2群に分類し、生活習慣に関する質問票調査結果を比較・検討した結果では、食習慣に関する項目で、収載者と非収載者で有意な差が見られた。この有意差には、各群に属する回答者の属性が大きく影響していることが示唆された。
