1 資料調査本年度は、秋田城跡調査事務所、新潟大学人文学部、奈良国立文化財研究所、東京大学史料編纂所、国立歴史民俗博物館において行った。秋田城跡発掘調査事務所においては、昨年行った調査に引き続いて、秋田城跡出土木簡のうち、削片および木簡本体の削り方についての調査を行った。なお、検討を要するものが多々残り、今後も継続して研究を進めたい。新潟大学人文学部においては、新潟県和島村から出土した出土文字資料を調査し、漆紙文書と木簡の断片接合の比較研究を進めることができた。なお、東京大学史料編纂所・国立歴史民俗博物館では、木簡に関する書籍の調査を行った。奈良国立文化財研究所では、二条大路木簡の整理状況を調査し、削片接合の具体例などについて、同研究所架蔵の写真資料を用いて調査を行った。削片の接合についての多くの知見を得ることができ、復原方法についての認識を深めることができた。2 資料整理および研究本年度は購入した日本古代木簡関係図書から、藤原宮木簡・平城宮木簡についての事例をパーソナルコンピューターを用いてデータベース化し、また『木簡研究』に報告された事例についても収集し、データベースの構築を目指した。数量的に多いため、現在も作業は進行中である。なお、昨年9月に下野国府跡出土の削片群について調査を行う予定であったが、気象の事情により、やむなく中止せざるを得なくなった。別途日程を検討したが、今年度中には果たせなかった。今後、調査可能な限り現物に近い形で調査を行い、復原案の検証を行っていくことにしたい。
