项目摘要

平成九年度に引き続き、中国文献の語彙索引の作成をめざし、カード収集を進めていくとともに、本年度はこれをふまえた個別的な考察も同時に行ったが、その過程で『高僧伝』『続高僧伝』については、全語彙を網羅して考察するのは効率的でないと判断、以後もっぱら『文選李善注』の語釈部分に絞ってカード収集を行った。しかし、個別的考察を同時進行させたため、カード収集に思いのほか手間取り、現在全体の三分の一ほどを終えたところである。収集された漢語と日本側の文献に現われる漢語語彙の比較考察として、『萬葉集』の題詞・左注に見られる漢語から「陳」と「述」、「述懐」の用例について、双方の文脈をじゅうぶん見極めながら、共通点・相違点を明らかにし、古代日本における漢語の受容の一端を浮び上がらせた。その成果の一部は、第51回(1998年度)萬葉学会全国大会において口頭発表した(演題: 「大伴家持『拙懐』考」)。この発表の主題は、萬葉歌人大伴家持の造語と見られる「拙懐」についての考察だが、全3例のうち、2つが「述拙懐」、1つが「陳私拙懐」となっていることに注目、中国文献の「述懐」の用法を吟味しつつ、和語としてはともにノブと訓む「陳」と「述」の使用される場面のちがいをつきとめ、家持が漢語の用法に即して使い分けをしたことを明らかにした。
