1 〈大峯縁起〉関連資料について、前年の書誌調査に基づき、内容を検討した結果、次のことが判明した。(1) 真福寺本熊野金峯縁起群は、僧行俊の首謀した役行者誕生地回復運動と関わり、あるいはそれを踏まえて、平安末期から鎌倉初期にかけて編纂されたと推測される。よって同群中の〈大峯縁起〉への言及については、それを史実として無批判に受け容れることはできない。(2) 天理本系「大峯縁起」は、真福寺本を根本資料としており、よって通説より降り、鎌倉期に入り編纂されたと推測される。しかもここでは、〈大峯縁起〉を縁取るように編纂された真福寺本に拠りながら、〈大峯縁起〉そのものが新たに編纂されるという顛倒が生じている。上記内容の一部については、真福寺善本叢刊『熊野金峯大峯縁起集』(国文学研究資料館編)解題でも触れたが、同書の性格を鑑みて、11研究発表欄から割愛した。2 役行者の伝や記について、書誌調査を行い、内容を検討した結果、次のことが判明した。(1) 役行者の伝は、切紙のなかで、修験道具を意味づける役割をも担っている。(2) 和歌山県立博物館藏『熊野権現縁起絵巻』は、そうした内容の切紙を承け、絵画にまで表現している。3 京都大学附属図書館島田文庫の書誌調査を概ね行ったが、発表までには、諸問題を整理し、再度調査を行う必要がある。以上、端緒についたばかりだが、鎌倉期から室町期にかけて編纂された修験道縁起群(および資料群)を相対化し、歴史的・系統的に位置づける手がかりは得たものと考える。
