(1)東京都内で小児科病棟における家族の付き添いに関する実態調査を実施したところ,母親の付き添いに対する病棟方針は「原則として許可しないがある条件で許可する」が59.4%で最も多かった.付き添い率は27.1(±29.4)%で,過去の報告に比べて減少傾向にあった.また,家族の付き添いに対して賛否両論であったが,母親や家族への負担を配慮する必要があるという認識が高くなりつつある現状が明らかになった.(2)家族機能を定量的に測定できる用具として,FFFS日本語版Iを開発し,その信頼性と妥当性を確認した.これは,「家族と個々の家族構成員との関係」,「家族とサブシステムとの関係」,「家族と社会との関係」の3分野を網羅した27項目で構成される自記式質問票である.今後,我が国においてさまざまな家族への適用を期待したい.(3)FFFS日本語版Iを使用して,母親が付き添いを行っている家族の家族機能を評価し,健常児を持つ母親との家族機能を比較することで,母親の付き添いが家族に及ぼす影響を明らかにした.家族機能の得点化により,付き添いを行っている母親は自由時間が少なく,疲労が高い生活の中で,子どもに関する心配事を抱え,心身ともにストレスの高い状態にあることが判明した.また,付き添いを行っている母親は,家族や社会での役割に支障をきたしていると感じており,家族機能の充足度が低い現状が明らかになった.とくに,「家族とサブシステムとの関係」と「家族と社会との関係」の分野における充足度の評価が低かった.母親が付き添いを行っている家族の家族機能を家族と社会との相互関係から正確にアセスメントし,良好な家族機能を維持できるように働きかけることを家族看護における課題として提案したい.
