项目摘要

本研究の目的は、教育拡大による入試多様化と学校序列との対応という研究成果を踏まえ、日本の教育システムの現代的状況を適正に位置づけることにある。平成12年度の具体的作業として、交付申請書では、全国データの収集、群馬県内の資料収集、社会調査のデータ整理および分析、研究成果の公表の4点を挙げていたが、いずれの作業もほぼ予定通り終了した。その成果は、群馬大学教育学部紀要および上越教育大学紀要の一部として公表される予定である。そこで明らかとなった本研究の主要な知見は以下の通りである。高校受験においては、60年代半ば以降に調査書重視が始まり、90年代には普通科高校においても推薦入学が定着したが、その結果として内申書を気にしている生徒ほど学校に適応的と見なされる行動をしがちであることがデータ全体の傾向となった。このことは管理統制装置としての内申書の役割が中学校全体に及んでいることを示している。また、大学受験においても、やはり60年代以降に推薦入学制度が導入されて以降、入試制度は多様化しているが、その結果として内申書が気になる高校生ほど勉強ストレスがたまっていることが明らかにされた。韓国の大学入試は最近内申書重視の制度に転換しており、その影響もあって日本と同様に内申書とストレスの関係が現れた。このことはいわゆる多様で新しい入学者選抜制度は必ずしも受験生にとって理想的な結果をもたらしたとはいえず、むしろ当初の政策意図とは裏腹の結果がもたらされた可能性を示している。なお、他にも地域比較データから様々な知見が得られたため、より包括的に成果を公表する必要があると判断し、枠組みを拡げる形で平成13年度科学研究費研究成果公開促進費(学術図書)に助成申請した。
