<研究の自的>本研究は、初期シカゴ学派杜会学を、アメリカ社会における社会学の制度化の過程で果たしたその役割を検討することによって再考することを目的とするものであった。とりわけ焦点をあてたのは、シカゴ大学内に社会科学系の学際研究機関として組織された「地域コミュニティ研究協議会」(LCRC)である。<研究の経過・成果>前年度は、シカゴ大学等で収集した資料にもとづき、LCRC後援の調査研究プロジェクト名および数、予算、参加した研究者名ともに、各プロジェクトを支援する地域コミュニティ側の組織名や補助金額等を明らかにした。今年度はLCRC後援の社会学的研究のなかで代表的なプロジェクトに特に注目し、大学院生を含めた社会学スタッフとシカゴの市民組織との人的な関係や、研究方法の特色を検討した。また、本研究を通じて、地域社会に対する研究成果の還元や、関係諸領域との学際的研究、日米間の公共性の違いなど、現在の学界にとって重要な諸問題について多くの示唆を得た。本研究の研究成果については、投稿準備中であるため詳細を明示できないが、本年中に公表する予定である。

This paper discusses the process of sociological institutionalization in the early stage of the study. The focus is on the "Regional Cosmopolitan Research Conference"(LCRC) organized by the inter-academic research institute of the Department of Social Sciences at Sciada University. <Study History·Results> In the previous year, the data collected from universities, LCRC research projects, estimates, names of participating researchers, names of organizations supported by each project, and amounts of grants were disclosed. This year, we will discuss the characteristics of the research methods and the relationships between the representatives of LCRC's sociology research, university students, civic organizations and people. This study is conducted in the fields of communication, geographical and social relations, academic relations, public relations, and current academic issues. The research results of this study are detailed in preparation for submission, and scheduled for publication in the middle of the year.
