平成12年度からの二年間で収集した宣命資料は、日本後紀・・・国会図書館蔵本・刊本 続日本後紀・・・宮内庁書陵部蔵本・尊経閣文庫蔵本・天理大学附属図書館蔵本など9本 日本文徳天皇実録・・・宮内庁書陵部蔵本・天理大学附属図書館蔵本・蓬左文庫蔵本など13本 日本三代実録・・・宮内庁書陵部蔵本・蓬左文庫蔵本・神宮文庫蔵本など9本に及ぶ。現在、これらの諸本を用いて、宣命の校本を作成する作業を進めている。現段階で明らかになっていることは、続日本後紀宣命を例に挙げると、以下のような点である。1、集めた9種の諸本は、形態面では大きく分けて一頁8行の本と14行の本の二種類に分かれるが、文字の異同等、本文の内容面では三種類に分かれる。2、内閣文庫所蔵慶長写本と宮内庁書陵部所蔵谷森氏旧蔵本の二本・尊経閣文庫蔵本は、形態は前者が一頁8行、後者が一頁14行と異なるが、宣命本文では一致する箇所が多い。3、内閣文庫所蔵元禄四年写本と国学院大学蔵本は宣命本文の一致する箇所が多く、また寛文八年刊本とも近い関係にある。4、宮内庁書陵部所蔵谷森善臣手校本は神宮文庫豊宮崎文庫旧蔵本と一致する部分が多い。5、もっとも古態を残していると言われる高柳光寿氏旧蔵本(閲覧したのみで収集はできていない)は、上の2のグループの諸本と一致する箇所もあるが、他の諸本では「てい」が多用される「て」の万葉仮名に「弖」を用いるなど、独自の点が多く見られる。
