项目摘要

メタデータとは、インターネット上の様々なデータの個々の属性とその所在を記述したものである。本研究ではこのメタデータを手がかりとして、データ形式や機種などに依存しない開かれたデータ更新同期方式を開発し、様々なデータ流通の効率化に役立てることを目的とする。従来よりソフトウェアの更新に関するシステムは多数存在し、また、インターネットにおいては複数のWWWサーバで同一のコンテンツを保持し、提供するミラーサイトという手法が負荷分散とアクセスの円滑化のために利用されてきている。平成12年度ではそのミラーサイトの構築手法を中心とした調査を行い、またミシガン大学のInternet Public Library(IPL,http://www.ipl.org/)のミラーサイトの構築を行うことでミラーサイト構築技術の実際について調べた。平成13年度では、前年度の調査に基づきプロトタイプシステムの構築を試みた。本研究に着手してからの調査によってWWWにおける分散オーサリングの規格として標準化途上のWebDAV(RFC2518)がメタデータの概念を導入していることが判明した。そこで、当初の方針をやや転換し、このWebDAVに基づいたミラーサイト構築のためのプロトタイプシステムの構築を行い、考察を行った。WebDAVではメタデータの記述形式としてXMLを用いている。プロトタイプシステムは可搬性を考慮し、Javaで構築を行い、XML形式データの処理にJAXPを用いた。この構築を通じて性能や認証とアクセス権限の問題が明確になり、現時点ではインターネットのような開かれた環境におけるデータ更新同期に適用するのは難しいと考えられる。本課題としては最終年度であるが、今後そのような問題点について解決方法を考案し、それを含めた形で研究成果として公表することを予定している。

This topic will be discussed in the final year, and the solution method of the problem will be discussed in the future.
