The project in the framework of the call for tenders "Digitisation of historical newspapers from the German-speaking area" aims to digitise two of the most important newspapers in Central Germany within 24 months. The daily newspapers have a running time of 74 and 54 years respectively and cover the period from the end of the 19th century to the Second World War. The digitisation will use the microfilms produced in the mid-1990s. The digital copies are to be deposited with the full text and made accessible in a calendar view so that they can then be freely accessed on the net via various supra-regional and international detection systems. They are made permanently available for research.
