项目摘要

『沙石集』の伝本研究の要となる、内閣文庫蔵本の全翻刻に着手し、完了した。その結果、内閣文庫本は従来、本文系統は略本系であっても、裏書を含めて考えることによって、古態を持つとされる広本系に分類されていたが、裏書の中には『沙石集』の最終段階の形態とされる刊本の生成に利用されたと考えられる記事が豊富にあり、むしろ刊本へと至る略本系統の本文形成に内閣文庫本の裏書が多大に寄与したことが判明した。内閣文庫本は、裏書を足すことによって、広本に近づくのではなく、刊本へ近づいていくのである。同時に、内閣文庫本の裏書記事はすべて無住自身の手になるものであることが判明し、内閣文庫本独自記事の検討から、無住の和歌観、学識の変遷等にも新たな見解を加えることが出来た。また、内閣文庫本の研究と並行して、米沢市立図書館蔵本(米沢本)、京都大学付属図書館蔵本(長享本)の研究を行った。米沢本は『沙石集』伝本中、古態を残す完本であるため、内閣文庫本の研究の比較対照としてその価値を見極める必要性があったためであり、長享本は略本の中で最古の写本であることから、内閣文庫本と同様に広本と略本の関係性を解く鍵となる本であったからである。こちらの研究はまだ継続中であるため、『沙石集』伝本論の中にどのように関わらせていくかは現時点では明らかにできない。最後に、無住と当時の仏教界との交流は、無住が作品に投下した思想にも多分に影響を与えたと考えられるため、愛知県西尾市実相寺の僧侶との関連を中心に考察を行った。成果は近日中に発表の予定である。
