全3年度研究中の最終年度にあたる本年度は、日本、中国、フィリピン、マレーシアにおいて武術精神文化の調査および資料収集が行われた。日本においては、天理大学・西南学院大学等において江戸期と明治・大正・昭和期における日本武術の精神文化資料(前者にあっては武術と関わる心法、後者にあってはとりわけ大日本武徳会において醸成された天皇国体を支える近代武道観、およびこれを基盤として第二次大戦後に形成された今日常識の武道観の関連資料)が収集された。中国においては北京体育大学を中心に中国武術の精神文化(道教的宇宙論を背景とした気論的健康観および気論的修行観)関連資料が収集された。フィリピンにおいては、アルニス、エスクリマ、シラット、ハギビス、クンタウ・リマ・リマ、サガサ、シカラン、タラヒブ、ヨウ・ヤン、ダマ、ブノ、等々の伝統武術の精神文化資料が収集された。マレーシアでは、当地の中国系マレーシア人がクアラルンプールに有する華社研究中心において、中国武術に関する新聞記事の収集を行った。華社研究中心の図書室は、マレーシアで発行された過去半世紀の新聞記事を分野別にスクラップしており、今回、華人武術、太極拳、武術与健身運動、体育、華人伝統健身運動、精武体育会のスクラップから関連資料が収集された。対象新聞は、東方日報、New Straits Times、Berita Harian、Utusan Malaysia、星州日報、南洋商報、中国報、光明日報、光華日報、Star、詩華日報、国際時報の12紙に及んでいる。
