项目摘要

本年度前半期はロシア連邦に長期滞在し、調査・研究活動を行った。まず、モスクワやサンクトペテルブルクの図書館において資料収集を行った。本年度は特にオセチアの精神文化について注目して資料を集めた。さらに、ロシア連邦北オセチア共和国を訪問し、地域博物館や北オセチア国立大学で考古学遺物を実見する一方で共和国内に点在するオセット人の「聖域」をまわって調査した。この「聖域」はオセット人がキリスト教(正教)と同時に信仰している土着的信仰の神々にまつわるもので、この土着の神々に対する信仰にはイラン系騎馬遊牧民の精神文化の影響があると考えられる。また、ロストフ・ナ・ドヌーにて、スキタイやサルマタイの遺物を多く所蔵するロストフ・ナ・ドヌー地域博物館、アゾフ博物館、タナイス博物館で実見を行った。続いて、7月下旬から9月上旬にかけて北オセチア、ディゴル渓谷に位置するサウアル遺跡発掘調査に参加した。サウアル遺跡は紀元前5-4世紀頃のカフカースの定住民文化であるコバン文化の遺跡で、スキタイがカフカースを通過した痕跡なども発見されている。発掘調査の一方でディゴル渓谷に存在するワストゥルジに関係する洞窟やニッコラの洞窟といった「聖域」の調査も行った。これらの「聖域」や神々に関しては平成24年1月に行われた比較神話学シンポジウムで発表し、その後論文としてこのシンポジウムの報告書に掲載された。また、昨年度から取り組んでいるアランのキリスト教改宗問題について、古代・東方キリスト教研究会で発表することができた。史料からコンスタンティノープル総主教がアランへの布教の音頭を取っていたことが判明した。平成24年2月には再度モスクワへ赴き、国立図書館と国立歴史図書館、考古学研究所で資料収集を行った。ナルト叙事詩のヴァリアントを収集し、19世紀末のロシア人が記録したオセチアの習俗及びカフカースにおけるロシア正教会の活動についても調査した。
