项目摘要

1.日本人高校生(142名)、韓国人高校生(60名)、豪州人高校生(54名)へのアンケート調査の結果、異文化理解を主な目的として日本語を学習した韓国人・豪州人は、日本人より日本・日本文化に対して多様な見方をしており、異文化適応度も高いという結果が得られた。この異文化適応度に関しては、Kelley and Meyersが中心となって作成した、Cross-Cultural Adaptability Inventoryの全50項目[下位尺度は(1)情緒の安定、(2)柔軟性・開放性、(3)認知の鋭敏さ、(4)自立性]を使用し、得られた数値で分散分析を行った。多重比較の結果、適応度は、豪州人>韓国人>日本人の順で得点が高かった。ここから、異文化理解を目的とする外国語教育はLo Biancoらが提唱する「第三の場所」の構築に確実につながっていることが確認できた。2.日本人高校生、韓国人高校生各4人のOPI(ロールプレイ部分)を分析した結果、日本人の非言語行動の特徴として、発話中の首振り(話し手の場合)と相槌の首振り(聞き手の場合)が観察された。ここから日本人が会話を円滑に進めていく際に、首の縦振りが重要な役割を担っていることが明らかとなった。また、韓国人の特徴として、目上の人との会話に、腕組み、肘付き、頬杖が観察された。これらは日本人には見られない手の動きであり、長幼の序を守る両国でも表し方が異なることが窺えた。3.18年度の調査結果は現在分析中であるが、17年度までの項目・手法と異なる点は、次の通りである。この結果と未発表のデータについては、今後順次発表する。(1)「目本らしさ」「日本文化らしさ」「学習希望項目」の選択理由を記述させた。(2)「日本文化らしさ」の選択要因(例:日本人との接触、情報機器)を選択肢より選択させた。(3)日本語能力の変化を分析するため、30人に春と冬の2回、インタビューを行った。
