1:日本、米国、EU、韓国、合計25社のエレクトロニクス系多国籍企業の研究開発活動がどの程度国際的に展開されているかを検証した。これら企業が米国で取得した特許、ならびに米国で発行されたこれら企業所属の研究者発表論文を発明者所属機関国籍および発表者諸国期間国籍で見た場合、1980年以降2005年に至るまで5年ごとに検索した結果、どの企業も例外なく国際化が進展してきていることが判明した。2:これら分析対象企業エレクトロニクス系22社のケースが他の産業の多国籍企業にも適応しうるかどうかは今後の課題である。しかしながら、研究開発ないし技術開発活動に多様な国籍の研究者(技術者)が関与してきていることは否定し得ない傾向であるように思われる。ちなみにIBM社の2005年米国認可特許検索によると、研究者所属機関国籍は32に及んでいる。3:研究開発成果に見いだされた中心的プロジェクト・リーダーの所属機関国籍、および国籍と文化的多様性との関連を研究成果として文章化されるには至っていない。しかしながら、発明者・著者国籍で見る限り中国、インド、韓国、シンガポールを中心とする東アジア諸国の儒教文化圏国籍の比率とランキングは極めて顕著に上昇してきている。他方、イスラム圏の比率は依然として低位のままである。
